As Consul General of Israel in New York, Ambassador Dayan represents the State of Israel to communities throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Delaware. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1955, he is the first Hispanic Consul General of Israel in New York.
Amb. Dayan has established a reputation as an Israeli public figure, lecturer and entrepreneur. He served as Chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria and as the Council’s Chief Foreign Envoy. In these roles, Amb. Inon Elroy was appointed Economic Minister to North America in August 2016. As Vice Director General of the Ministry from 2012 to 2016, he was tasked with overseeing industrial policy (promoting domestic production and innovation), trade regulations (liberalization of imports, anti-dumping and standardization), and regional economic planning.
